Privacy notice
By Jamie Rae is a small design studio based in Cape Town. This notice explains what happens to the information you send through this website. South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) applies to the handling of personal information.
What we collect
The enquiry form asks for your name, email address, contact number, the date and type of your event, and whatever you choose to tell us about your plans. The hosting and spam-protection services also process technical request and browser signals, such as an IP address, to deliver and protect the form. Unless you turn it off, Google Analytics also records how you use the site; see Analytics below. The site does not run advertising tools.
Why we collect it
To answer your enquiry, prepare a quote and — if you go ahead — deliver the work. That is the only purpose.
Who sees it
Jamie receives the enquiry at hello@byjamierae.co.za. Cloudflare hosts and protects the form, including its Turnstile spam check, and Resend transmits the enquiry as an email. Google receives analytics data unless you turn analytics off. Those providers and their authorised subprocessors therefore handle the information needed to provide those services. The enquiry is not used for advertising or sold.
How long we keep it
A fixed retention schedule has not yet been approved and will be added before the site is opened to search indexing. You can ask what is held about you, or request correction or deletion, using the address below.
Your rights
You may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@byjamierae.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Spam protection
The enquiry form uses two checks to keep automated submissions out: a hidden field that only an automated script would fill in, and Cloudflare Turnstile. Turnstile runs small browser challenges and processes the signals needed to distinguish a person from automated traffic. Cloudflare states that Turnstile does not access, store or transmit the form entries themselves.
Analytics
The site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use it, so it can be
improved. Google Analytics sets two cookies (_ga and _ga_BGR501JE34)
that give your browser a random identifier, and records the pages you view, how you arrived (for
example from a search or Instagram), your approximate location, your device and browser type, and
whether you sent the enquiry form or used a contact link. It does not record what you type into
the form. Google states that Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses. Google signals
and ad personalisation are switched off, and the data is not used for advertising.
We rely on our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used. You can object at any time with Turn off analytics, below and at the foot of every page. Turning it off stops Google Analytics on this site and deletes its cookies. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, Google Analytics is off unless you turn it on. Google processes this data on our behalf and may do so outside South Africa. Google Analytics deletes it after the retention period set in the account.
